Arnold Douglas Sims, 72, beloved Husband and Father, was called to his eternal resting place on September 30, 2016. He entered this world on September 4, 1944 in Boles, AR, born to Hub and Dove Sims.

Doug drove a truck all of his adult years and retired from Tyson as a driver. Doug loved the Lord with all of his heart and would like to be remembered for his life after accepting Jesus. He was always willing to do what was asked of him whether it was at church, being Santa or the Easter bunny for Gwinda and the kids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife and best friend of 41 years and 9 months Gwinda Scott Sims and four children; Lisa Coyle and husband Ronny, Danny Sims and wife Sheri, Jamie Sims, and Sarah Escalanta and husband Ace. Papa/Pepa will forever remain in the hearts of his eleven grandchildren; Amanda English and husband Wes, Mindi Coyle, Jonathon Coyle, Laura Luttrell, Tyler Sims and wife Daisy, Jordan Sims, Ashley Clift and husband Blake, Taylor Farmer and Brody Hajj, Desiree Hunt, Jayde Escalanta, and Raycer Escalanta. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren, two sisters Catherine Pace and Sue Watkins and a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Doug is preceded in death by: Parents Hub Sims and Dove Sims, Brothers Omer Sims and Buddy Ray Sims and sisters, Evelyn Blalock, Jean Barker, and Betty Jo Payne.

Doug's life celebration will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
