Bobby Ray Mays of Boles, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, September 22, 2014 in Boles, Arkansas. Bobby was born, October 22, 1949 to Bob Douglas Mays and Needa Faye (House) Mays in Waldron, Arkansas. Bobby was 64 years and 11 months old.

As a young boy Bobby spent a lot of his days at mamaw & granddads house. If he wasn't there he wanted to be. Bobby had a love for horses and rodeos and acquired the cb handle "Lonesome Cowboy". If you ever saw him out, he would be in boots and a cowboy hat. Bobby entered the service in Ft. Campbell Kentucky in 1969. He served in Vietnam as an aircraft maintenance helicopter mechanic and a helicopter gunner. In 1976 Bobby became the proud parent of not one baby but two. He gave them the name of "Love Bug" and "Outlaw". He loved them with all his heart. Bobby had a great love for people. He would give the shirt off his back to someone he didn't even know and never expected anything in return.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Bob and Needa Mays of Boles, Arkansas, one daughter, Crystal Lynn Mays and Bobby Ditgen of Story, Arkansas, one son, Douglas Ray Mays and wife LeAnne of Waldron, Arkansas, one sister, Dyiana Kane and husband Matt of Waldron, Arkansas, and one brother, Ronnie Mays and wife Phyllis of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandpa will forever be in the hearts of six grandchildren: Tyler, Michael, Dustin, Bladyn, Dylan and Raylyn and one great granddaughter, Addalee. Bobby will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including: a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.

Bobby is preceded in death by one infant son, Bobby Douglas "Little BD" Mays.

Bobby's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Boles Freewill Baptist Church in Boles, Arkansas with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Chant Cemetery in Y-City, Arkansas.

Bobby's pallbearers will be Tyler Mays, Hunter Kane, Larry Boren, Gary House, Jimmy Brown and Dustin Mays. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Mays and Michael Boren.

Bobby's visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Bobby's family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
