Norma Lee Self

Norma Lee Self of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born November 14, 1936 in Wood County Texas to Austin Stanford and Mozelle (Wilson) Stanford. Norma was 78 years, 8 months and 7 days old. She attended Birdsview Methodist Church and was strong in her faith.

Norma was a long time member of the Scott County Home Extension Club. This is when she had her opportunity to visit with long time friends. Norma loved working on the farm. She didn't mind to rake hay or work cows as long as she was on her farm. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Her most treasured times was being with her family. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and taking care of them all.

Norma leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Rev. James Self and wife Tammy and Charles Self all of Waldron, Arkansas. Memaw will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren, Philip Self and Gail Perez and three great grandchildren and a sweet baby on the way: Addie, Antonio and Sebastian and baby Elianna. Norma will be missed by three sisters: Becky Kelley and husband Wayne of Grand Saline, Texas, Margaret Keeling of Spring, Texas and Jo-Nell Williams and husband Mike of Forney, Texas and one brother, Ronnie Stanford and wife Linda of Canton, Texas.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Fulton Self, parents, Austin and Mozelle Stanford, two sisters: Ann Newman and Glenda Cotton and one daughter, Julia Self.

Norma's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. James Self officiating. Interment will follow in the Birdsview Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Norma's visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home where Norma's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
