Vergie L. Simpson

Vergie L. Simpson of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Waldron, Arkansas. Vergie was born May 12, 1918 to Harry Melton and Oda "Green" Melton in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Vergie was 98 years old.

As a young woman, Vergie worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She then met and married the love of her life Victor Warren "VW" Simpson. She became a committed and devoted homemaker and ministers wife. She spent her life serving and caring for others. Vergie loved the color red.

Vergie leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son, Harry simpson and wife Ellen, 3 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren all of Texas. Vergie will be missed by all that knew her and them many whose lives were impacted by her including a host of friends and loved ones dear to her heart.

Vergie was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband "VW".

Vergie's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017 in the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Ray Jett officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Vergie's honorary pallbearers will be residents of the Waldron Nursing Center.
