Roy Lee Killion

August 5, 1943 — September 5, 2017

Roy Lee Killion of Green Forest, Arkansas (formerly of Waldron, AR) was delivered into the arms of the Father on September 5, 2017. He was born on August 5, 1943 to Ben Killion and May (Doyel) Killion Hicks in Waldron, Arkansas. Roy was 74 years old.

He enjoyed gardening and quilting. He was proud of the 16 years he served his country as a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force. He worked for Tyson Foods for 27 years before he retired, working at both the Waldron and Green Forest plants as production coordinator. He loved and supported both of his church families. He attended Jubilee Church in Waldron with Bro Michael Jordan as his pastor where he served on the church board & taught the Adult Sunday School Class from 1982 until moving to Green Forest in 1995. He attended Victory Tabernacle in Green Forest with Bro Kris Villines as his pastor also serving on the church board & teaching the Adult Sunday School Class.

Roy was a man of honesty and integrity. He was a hard worker and wonderful provider for his family, not only by his diligent work ethic, but by his high morals as well. He was someone who stood up for what he believed and showed us how you are supposed to always do the right thing in any situation. He always gave us good advice, but the best advice was the example he set by the way he lived his life.

He was a shelter for his wife, a hero for his daughter, a role model for his sons, and a best buddy for his granddaughter. Three year old Avery was his absolute joy. She was his ‘Punkin’ and he was her ‘Papaw’. Roy was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. As he reminded us a few weeks ago ‘he was blessed’. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years Carolyn (Scott) Killion of Green Forest, Arkansas. His daughter Lisa Elliott of Arkoma, Oklahoma. His son and daughter-in-law Eric and Amanda Killion of Green Forest, Arkansas. His granddaughter Avery Nicole Killion of Green Forest, Arkansas. His sister and brother-in-law Esther and Mondale Wagner of Waldron, Arkansas. Numerous nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents. His step father Tom Hicks. His brother and sister-in-law Ben and Mildred Killion. His sister and brother-in-law Velma and Albert Montgomery. His sister and brother-in-law Marie & Ed Ridenhour. And also his son Alan Lee Killion.

Roy's Celebration of Life service will be Saturday September 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Jordan and Rev. Kris Villines officiating. Interment will follow in Pilot Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas.
