Arthur Barnett, 87 of Waldron, Arkansas past from this life Thursday February 3rd, 2011, in Waldron.

Auther was born May 4, 1923 in Cardiff, Arkansas to the late Dale and Susie (Wagoner) Barnett. He was a logger, farmer, and a World War II Navy Veteran.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Barnett of the home; two sons: Dr. Emmet Barnett of Waldron, AR, Kerry and wife Cathy Barnett of Waldron, AR. Two granddaughters: April and husband Jonathan Shockey of Fort Smith, AR, Chelsea Kellogg of Warner, OK; one grandson Derek Barnett of Williston, ND. Arthur is also survived by one brother, Dale Jr. Barnett, one sister Clara House, and one sister-n-law Barbara Barnett all of Waldron, AR.

Arthur was preceded in death by his father Dale Barnett, mother Susie Barnett, brother Ralph Barnett, and one sister Atha Mae Starr.

Arthur's funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 7th, 2011 at the Church of Christ in Waldron with Adam Evans and Leonard Fuson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Waldron. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas..

His Pallbearers will be: Randall Barnett, Richard Barnett, Mike House, James House, Rick Metcalf, and Brad Stamps.

Honorary pall bearers will be: Derek Barnett, Jonathan Shockey, Dale Jr. Barnett, Twain Willis, M. C. Himes, L D Yandell, Pete Powell, and Coy Butler.

Arthur's visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, c/o Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, P. O. Box 358, Waldron, Arkansas 72958.
