Billy Joe Nelson,85, passed away on his birthday June 24, 2016 in Waldron, Arkansas. Bill was born in Purnell, Oklahoma to Herman E. Nelson and Jennie L. (Smith) Nelson.
Bill was a resident of Y-City, Arkansas for 38 years. Prior to living in Y-City Bill worked at Lake Tahoe Nevada and Yosemite National Park, California as maintenance supervisor and ski instructor for many years.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, three sisters: Betty Brooks and Helen Broussard both of Pahrump, Nevada and Sherri Parker of Y-City, Arkansas, one daughter, Patricia McCullogh and grandchildren: Derik Pridmore, Jo Fair, Valina Deckard and Randal Fair.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Nelson, parents,Herman and Jennie Nelson, brothers: Ed Nelson and Steve Nelson, one sister Judy Saunders and one son Ray Pridmore.
Bill's memorial life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Living Word Church on West 4th Street in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Grady Parker officiating. Arrangements and cremation are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
