Buena Vista Hawkins of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, January 19, 2018 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Buena was born July 27, 1941 in Nola, Arkansas to Ted Gaston and Nora (Rose) Gaston. She was 76 years, 5 months and 22 days old.
Buena was retired from Rheem after more than 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed quilting, painting and doing crafts. However, her true passion was taking care of her family. She was a loving and giving lady. She looked forward to being around her family and friends and doing what she could for them. She had a warm and inviting smile that was contagious. She welcomed everyone into her home and would give big hugs as she greeted you.
Buena leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Steve Hawkins and wife Jeanette of Mansfield, Arkansas, John Hawkins of Waldron, Arkansas and one step daughter, Jackie Sue Davis of Little Rock, Arkansas. Granny will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: George Hawkins and wife Amanda, Emily Hulsey and husband Ben, Tashia Brandenberg, Dixie Crump, Amanda Hawkins and Jeremy Hawkins and wife Angela as well as 10 great grandchildren. Buena is also survived by her siblings: James Gaston and wife Shirley of Hartford, Arkansas, June Castleberry of Rover, Arkansas, Brenda Austin and husband Leon of Harvey, Arkansas. and sister in law, Janie Elmore and brother in law Dalton Hawkins and wife Joyce all of Waldron, Arkansas. Buena will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted including a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends Bonnie Atchley and Diana Harrell.
Buena was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Nora Gaston and her loving husband George Hawkins, brother in law, Dennis Castleberry and Tessie Castleberry.
Buena's graveside life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Arkansas with Keith Holleman and Roger Rice officiating. Interment will immediately follow.
Buena's pallbearers will be George Hawkins, Ben Hulsey, Jeremy Hawkins, J.J. Gaston, Chris Burkhart and John Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hawkins Cemetery.
