Charles William Long

Charles William Long of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Sunday, November 15, 2015 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born October 15, 1945 in Hon, Arkansas to Calvin W. Long and Wilma Ilene (Syler) Long. Charles was 70 years and 1 month old.

Charles met and married the love of his life, Alice Evelyn Messinger . Together they raised three children and then they enjoyed being grandparents and later being great grandparents. Charles retired from driving a truck. He was a member of Waldron Masonic Lodge #132 F&AM in Waldron, Arkansas. Charles enjoyed sitting out in his shop.

Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Alice of the home, two daughters: Alice Ann Sloniker and husband Adam and Samantha Schlorff and husband John and one son, Carl W. Long and wife Teresa as well as one brother, Larry Dean Long and wife Charlene all of Waldron, Arkansas. Papa will forever remain in the hearts of his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Calvin and Wilma Long and one great grandson, Alexander W. Long.

Charles' graveside life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Hon Cemetery in Hon, Arkansas with Rev. Collins Lane officiating. Interment will follow. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Charles' honorary pallbearers will be Milo Hughes, Donald Hill, Curtis Billings, Adam Sloniker, John Schlorff and brothers of the Waldron Lodge #132.

Charles' visitation will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
