Diana “Di” Lynn Hughes, age 76, of Waldron, Arkansas, passed from this life on June 30th, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Di was a beloved wife, mother, Memaw, & friend. She left this earth peacefully, surrounded by her family, & covered in love. Di was born on February 25th, 1950, to Howard Cox and Thelma Cox Wallace in Norman, Oklahoma. 

Diana married the love of her life, Charley Hughes, on June 4th, 1987. They were best friends & stuck by each other’s side until the very end. Di dedicated 30+ years to the lumber industry serving as a corporate accountant, book keeper, & secretary for Big Pine Lumber Co. & Scott County Lumber. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and fierce loyalty to those who she loved. She always had an unwavering devotion to her family & friends. Di was always the life of the party & would light up any room she entered. She brought love and laughter into any situation. She had a sense of adventure and loved being outdoors; whether it was hunting with her best friends on Blue Moon or jerking crappie lips on the lake with Charley, the boys, & the grandbabies. Di found great joy in her grandchildren. She treasured each & every moment spent with them. Diana was a great friend, the best Memaw, & a vital member of our family.

Diana is survived by her loving husband of the home, Charley Hughes; 3 sons: Howard Erler of Oklahoma City, OK; Jarrod & Kelly Hughes of Russellville, AR; Jordan & AnnDee Hughes of Greenwood, AR. Di, best known as “Memaw”, leaves behind her beloved 5 granddaughters & one grandson-in-love: Charley Slagle & fiancé, Justin Talley, of Dallas, TX; Kamryn & Payton Hughes of Russellville, AR; BrookLynn & Johnnie Grace Hughes of Greenwood, AR. Di-Do leaves behind her loving siblings Sherry & Terry Gilmore of Sallisaw, OK; Donna & Jim Fetherolf, Wes & Michelle Wallace, all of Newalla, OK, among a host of beloved nieces & nephews.

Di was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma Cox Wallace, Dan Wallace, & Howard Cox; her brother, Jesse Cox Jr.; & her nephews, Jess “Pooh” Cox & Dan’l Rohrbaugh.

A private memorial for close friends & family will be held at a later date. Date & details pending.
