Dorothy Cooley

Dorothy Pearl Cooley, 79 , of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, June 14, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. Dorothy was born March 8, 1931 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late William Lewis Speaks and Lucy Ann (Sherrill) Speaks. She was a retired cosmetologist. Dorothy is survived by three daughters , Judy Poole of Waldron, Arkansas, Vanessa Piper of Boles, Arkansas, Lisa Hicks of Augusta, Arkansas; four grandchildren; two sisters, Lillie Mae Speaks of Boles, Arkansas, Wanda Miller of Cedarville, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorena Jo Cooley; two sisters, L. Bonnie Perry; three brothers, Lester Speaks, William Lewis Speaks, and Charlie Speaks. Dorothy's funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Boles Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs, officiating. Interment will follow in the Chant Cemetery in Y-City, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matthew Poole, Brian Hicks, Jason Hicks, and nephews, Jim Miller, Joey Miller, Johnny Miller. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the funeral home.
