Edward Lee Slaughterbeck, 77, Waldron, Arkansas passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 11th, 2009 at the Waldron hospital.
Edward was born in Lower Center Point, AR on May 9, 1931, the son of the late Dallas Edward and Julia Irene (Staggs) Slaughterbeck.
He was a veteran of the Korean War in the U. S. Navy. He was employed by the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department as an engineer and has been retired for the past 22 years.
Edward is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Slaughterbeck of the home, a daughter, Cindi Williams and husband Jim of Bethany, Oklahoma. He is also survived by one grandson, Sean Edward Williams and his wife Amy of Warr Acres, OK., one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Harris and her husband Jared of Oklahoma City, OK. and one great grandson, Beckham James Williams.
Edward is also survived by two sisters, Patsy Hawkins and her husband Edmund of Booneville, AR., and Delphia Brooks of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Hakala.
Edward?s funeral service will be at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 14th, with Rev. Jim Williams officiating with interment in the Lower Center Point Cemetery under the direction of the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sean Williams, Jared Harris, Kenny Johnston, Junior (Wag) Wagner, Reggie Owens, and Randall Barnett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert May, Scott Wagner, Neil Sparks, Byron Owens, Joe Allen, Randy Soloman, Steven Black, David Harrison, Larry Taff, Mark Ward, Derek Owens, Brian Jones, Jim Mourton, Steve Mourton, Josh Mourton, Billy Wagner, and Edmund Hawkins.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 and 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
