Gilbert William Cervenka

Gilbert William Cervenka of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 in Waldron, Arkansas. Gilbert was born December 22, 1930 to Jim L. Cervenka and Bertha Hubenak in El Campo, Texas. Gilbert was 85 years old.

Gilbert proudly served a tour of duty in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion. Gilbert was known for his horsemanship. He loved riding and working on the leather goods that go with being a rider. Gilbert was a storyteller. He always had a good one up his sleeve. Gilbert was married to the love of his life, Jeanette (Loman) Cervenka for 57 years before she passed on to wait for him in Heaven. Together they had one beautiful daughter, Dianna who also waits in Heaven. Gilbert had one granddaughter and two great grandsons that were all the light of his life. Gilbert loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Gilbert leaves behind to cherish his memory, one granddaughter, Amy Mobley and husband Nathan of Mansfield, Arkansas. Grandpa will forever remain in the hearts of three great grandchildren: Chase Harris, Jarrett Harris and Faith Lawrence all of Mansfield, Arkansas . Gilbert is also survived by two sisters: Ann Wuthrich, and Ruby Wuthrich both of Texas. Gilbert will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted, including a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his dear wife, Jeanette, one daughter Dianna Lee and his parents, Jim and Bertha Hubenak, three brothers: Edward, James & John Cervenka and one sister, Tilly McClure.

Gilbert's Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Father Ravi Gudipalli officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Gilbert's pallbearers will be Chase Harris, Jarrett Harris, Russell Cervenka, Alvin Carnahan, Rick Black and Sammy Davidson.

Gilbert's visitation will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Rosary will be Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
