Glenda "Tootsie" Owens

September 1, 1938 — April 13, 2014

Glenda Sue "Tootsie" (Hunt) Owens of Waldron, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 13, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family. Tootsie was born September 1, 1938 to Jake Hunt Sr. and Mona (Dickens) Hunt in Dutch Creek, Arkansas. Tootsie was 75 years, 7 months and 12 days old. She was a member of the Waldron Pentecostal Church of God.

In September 58 years ago, Tootsie married the love of her life, William Owens. They were each other's companion, friend and confidant. Together they raised two wonderful children and then they carried the precious title of "Grandparents". Tootsie loved to meet and visit with people. She enjoyed cooking and would whip something from the kitchen when she had the opportunity. Tootsie loved to shop and go to yard sales. She was always up for a fun trip to look for a bargain. Tootsie loved her family and being with them. Time spent with her family and memories made with each of them were precious to her heart.

Tootsie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 58 years, William of the home, one daughter, Vicki Watkins and husband Randy, one son, Ricky Owens and wife Debbie all of Waldron, Arkansas. Nana will forever be missed by her grandsons, Shannon Rogers, Dustin Owens and Zac O'Hagen, and one great grandson, Dawson Owens. Tootsie will remain in the hearts of two sisters, Clara Woodall of Waldron, Arkansas, Mary Owens of Greenwood, Arkansas and one brother Jake Hunt Jr. of Waldron, Arkansas. Tootsie will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including her special friends, Sybil Rodrick, Donna Metz and Erma Purcell as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.

Tootsie is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mona Hunt and one brother Eddie Hunt.

Tootsie's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas. Interment will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery in Union Hill, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Tootsie's pallbearers will be Deral Hunt, William Bates, Fred Pontello, Mike Owens, Matt Metz and Clay Woodall. Honorary pallbearer will be Jessie Oldaker.

A special thank you to Lindsey Wright for all your love and compassion and the wonderful care you showed for Tootsie.

Tootsie's visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Tootsie's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
