Harvey Samuel Hargis Jr. of Boles, Arkansas passed from this life Monday, May 16, 2016 in Boles, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Harvey was born September 24, 1953 in Stockton California, to Harvey S. Hargis Sr. and Grace Lou Burns. Harvey was 62 years, 7 months and 22 days old.

Harvey loved to deer hunt. He enjoyed the outdoors and he especially looked forward to spending time with his family and friends.

Harvey leaves behind to cherish his memory, his long time companion and best friend always, Julie Hargis, two sons: Brandon Hargis of Waldron, Arkansas and Jason Hargis of Boles, Arkansas. Harvey will also be missed by five sisters: Virginia Jones and Denise Himes both of Y-City, Arkansas, Patricia Hegwood and husband Randy of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Melody Chorely and husband Glenn of Tulare, California, Stacy Singleton of Mansfield, Arkansas and two brothers: Herman John Singleton of Tulare, California and Kenny Singleton and Stacy Lea Singleton of Greenwood, Arkansas and in laws: Tim McCurter and Lottie Lawrence of Waldron, Arkansas, Kevin McCurter and wife Shelley of Hobbs, New Mexico, Kath Gwin and husband Roger of Pocola, Oklahoma, Ellen Stafford and husband Steve of Grandbury, Texas and Jerry McCurter and wife Rita of Hobbs, New Mexico. Papa will forever remain in the hearts of eight grandchildren, Cali Hargis, Lylia Hargis, Alisha Strong, Jonathan Strong, Joshua Strong, Joseph Meza, Dominic King, and Nevaeh Hargis whom were the light of his life. Harvey will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted, including a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Harvey's life celebration will be held Tuesday , May 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Mike Shaddon officiating. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
