John W. Kuhlmann, Jr

August 27, 1928 — April 12, 2016

John Williams Kuhlmann Jr. of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. John was born August 27, 1928 to John Williams Kuhlmann Sr. and Katie Lee (Rogers) Kuhlmann in Chalk Hill, Texas. John was 87 years, 7 months and 16 days old. John attended Haw Creek Baptist Church.

John was retired after many many years of dedicated service, from the Arkansas Highway Transportation Dept. John was known as a hard working and honest man. The one thing he loved more than work was his precious wife Wanda Jo. He cherished his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. John built a 15 acre lake complete with camp sites and a family pavilion for his family to gather together and enjoy. Many memories on the lake will be treasured by his family.

John leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of more than 68 years, Wanda Jo Kuhlmann of the home, one son, Danny Kuhlmann and wife Beverly of Waldron, Arkansas, two daughters: Jackie Wright and husband Steven of Bonanza, Arkansas and Janis Martin and husband Gary of Roland, Oklahoma. John is also survived by one sister, Bobbie Wiley and husband Bob of Texas. Grandpa will forever remain in the hearts of his 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. John will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him, including an extended family of friends, neighbors and loved ones.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Katie Lee Kuhlmann and one sister, Faydell Rau, and one granddaughter, Kristina Kuhlmann.

John's life celebration will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Haw Creek Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. John Elmore, Rev. Pat Ray Biggs and Johnathan R. Kuhlmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

John's pallbearers will be Luther Kuhlmann, William Kuhlmann, Travis Martin, Ethan Haga, Evan Dotson, and Teric Penniman. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathan R. Kuhlmann, Jonathan Dotson, Pat Ray Biggs, Gary McMellon, Elvin Richmond, Jerald Plummer, Joshua Martin, Dakota Stevens, Lenny Lott, Matthew Hibbs and employees of the Arkansas Highway Transportation Dept.

John's visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home where John's family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
