Joyce Elaine Curtis

Joyce E. (Plantaber) Curtis, better known as "Bear" to her friends passed from this life, Sunday, March 15, 2015 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her loving family and friends. Joyce was born September 8, 1933 in Sterling, Illinois to Warren Plantaber Sr. and Janetta Anna (Ellis) Plantaber. Joyce was 81 years, 6 months and 7 days old.

Joyce enjoyed reading and working puzzles. Spending time with family and friends was her favorite pastime. She loved making memories with each of them.

Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters: Connie Kelly and Janice Holcomb of Sterling, Illinois, Penny Cheshire and Karren Gossett of Boles, Arkansas, two sons: Paul Cheshire Jr. and wife (Connie) and Keith Cheshire and wife (Mary) of Sterling, Illinois and one sister. Joyce will forever remain in the hearts of her many many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as one very dear friend, Alice Davis of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Joyce will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Janetta (Ellis) Plantaber, two brothers, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
