Kay Madeline Eaves of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, Monday, August 26, 2013 in Waldron, Arkansas. Kay was born April 9, 1939 to Elmer Paul Long & Lillian Geraldine (Walker) Long in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kay was 74 years, 4 months and 17 days old. Kay was a member of Waldron First Baptist in Waldron, Arkansas. When Kay was just a young girl, she married the love of her life, Eugene E. Eaves. They enjoyed watching baseball and her favorite team was the Atlanta Braves. Together they had 32 blessed years before Eugene was called to Heaven. They had the honor of having two loving children. Kay was a nurse at Scott County Hospital and Pinewood Nursing Home(currently Waldron Nursing Center). She was one the very first surgical nurses at Mercy Hospital in Waldron. Kay was also experienced in riding on the ambulance and going on first responder calls. Kay was a member of the American Heart Association, Scott Co. Extension Homemakers, and she was a spokesperson for ARORA. Kay was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed winning gifts for her Ally. Although she loved cats and animals, she really loved her family. Her time together with them was priceless. She cherished every minute. Kay leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son, Steven Eaves and wife Debbie of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandma will forever be missed by her grandchildren: Jeremy Eaves and wife Crystal of Waldron, Arkansas, Jesse Eaves of Waldron, Arkansas, Angela Williams and husband Erick of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Kyle Goolsby of Fort Smith, Arkansas and one great granddaughter, Allison Eaves. Kay is also survived by one sister Judy Long, sister in law, Avis Martindale and husband Doug, and sister in law, Anita Loopesco all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kay will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives were impacted by her including her many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Eaves, parents, Paul and Gerry Long, daughter, Pamela Goolsby and sons in laws, Jerry Goolsby and Don Duncan. Kay?s life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Center Point Cemetery in Hon, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Center Point Cemetery in Hon, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas. Kay?s pallbearers will be Jeremy Eaves, Jesse Eaves, Kyle Goolsby, Erick Williams, Doug Martindale and Reed Martindale. Honorary pallbearers will be Ken Vaughn, Paul Plummer, Odell Staggs, John Evans and Robert Newman. Kay?s visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
