Lee Roy Gibson

Lee Roy Gibson of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his family. Lee Roy was born March 8, 1926 to Troxie Lee Gibson and Cordlia Mae (Ashford) Gibson in Waldron, Arkansas. Lee Roy was 90 years, 4 months and 5 days old.

He was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas. Lee Roy proudly served a time in the United States Navy during WWII.

Lee Roy leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters: Linda Long and husband M.G. and Debra McCurry all of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandpa will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren: Harley McCurry III, Bradley McCurry, Joshua McCurry, and James Long as well as numerous great grandchildren. Lee Roy is also survived by two sisters, Agnes (Essa Mae) Bennett of Arizona, and Lucille Richmond of Waldron, Arkansas. Lee Roy will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted over the years, including an extended family of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Troxie and Cordlia Gibson, one son, Edward Lee Gibson, three brothers: Floyd Gibson, Louie Gibson, S.T. Gibson and sisters: Erma McElyea, Faye Hunt, Marie Speaks, and Mildred Thomas.

Lee Roy's life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Temple Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Square Rock Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Lee Roy's pallbearers will be Harley McCurry III, Bradly McCurry, Joshua McCurry, Rory Wadkins, Ray Sparks and Marc Sparks.

Lee Roy's visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Lee Roy's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
