Leonard Ridenhour

Leonard Fred Ridenhour, 89, of Waldron, Arkansas passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at a Waldron nursing home.
Leonard was born April 27, 1919 to Decatur and Daisy (Pointer) Ridenhour in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. He spent most of his adult life in Scott County.
Leonard enjoyed being with family, friends, and never lost the desire to be around people.
Leonard owned and operated the livestock auction and did auctioneering for 50 years in Waldron. He served on the Scott County Farm Board and served as chairman for about 20 years. Out of all the work he did, his real passion was his Hereford Cattle business.
Leonard was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church.
Leonard is survived by three sons, Leonard Ed & wife Deidre of Boles, AR; Kenneth & wife Sherry of Waldron, AR; Freddie & wife Cheril of Waldron, AR; three daughters Jean Solomon & husband Jim of Waldron, AR; Karen Broomfield & husband Delmo of Benton, AR and Susan Hale & husband Link of Benton, AR. Leonard is also survived by a special friend and caregiver Joanna Jamerson Rhyne. Leonard is survived by 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Leonard is preceded in death by a granddaughter Donna Joyce Ridenhour, his father Decatur and his mother Daisy (Pointer) Ridenhour; five brothers: Johnny, Ed, Art, Wade and Rainey Ridenhour and two sisters, Mae Jacobia, and Martha Franklin.
Leonard?s funeral service will be at Haw Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009 with Rev. John Elmore officiating with interment in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Solomon, Mitch Ridenhour, Bradley Ridenhour, Chad Broomfield, Shawn Ridenhour, Wade Ridenhour, and Parker Hale.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard McDaniel, Neal Jester, Justin Beaty, Bill Francis, Butch Morgan, Jerry Beaty, Wayne Meeks, Eugene Dedmon, Henry Bell Thompson, Donnie Jones, Doug White, Joe Boy Brown, and W.W. "Dick" Davis.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leonard?s family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
