Norma G. Bowerman of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Waldron, Arkansas. Norma was born April 19, 1923 to Thomas C. Wakefield and Josie (Smith) Wakefield in Apperson, Oklahoma. Norma was 90 years, 11 months and 18 days old.

Norma worked in the restaurant business for a number of years. At retirement, she was enjoying the food service industry in Midwest City Hospital in Midwest City, Oklahoma. In 2000 Norma moved to White Hall, Arkansas to be closer to her family. Norma moved to Waldron in 2009 to live with her son and daughter in law when they retired. She enjoyed crocheting and spending quality time with her family.

Norma leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter: Donna Jean Hill of Norman, Oklahoma and one son Thomas Walker and wife Patsy of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandma will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Marie Hill of Norman, Oklahoma, Russell Walker and wife Paula of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Angie Brown and husband Kevin of Sherwood, Arkansas and Vicki Howell of Waldron, Arkansas, Grandma Norma will be missed by her great grandchildren: Anna Newcomb and husband Kyle of Hensley, Arkansas, Emily Freshour and husband John of Little Rock, Arkansas, United States Army Ranger Zachery Brown, Nathan Brown of Sherwood, Arkansas, Landen Walker of White Hall, Arkansas, Clinton Walker of White Hall, Arkansas, Jordan Landreth of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Cole Reed of Dallas, Texas and Devon Dixon of Waldron, Arkansas and great great grandchildren: Zoey Paige Newcomb, Leighton Grace Newcomb and infant Freshour.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Josie Wakefield one sister, Ruth (Wakefield) Grimmer, and three brothers, Lloyd Wakefield, Paul Wakefield, and Ralph Wakefield and her husband, Willis (Curly) Bowerman.

Norma's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Dale Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove #3 Cemetery. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Norma's visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas where Norma's family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association.

Norma's family would like to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to the staff of Mercy Hospital Waldron and the staff of Waldron Nursing Center for the care and support these past months.
