N ova B. Slater-Hamilton passed from this life, Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family. Nova was born November 10, 1950 to Wesley Wright and Beulah Cagle Wright in Zoe, Oklahoma. Nova was 67 years old.
Nova was a kind woman. She was a very hard worker. She enjoyed working in her garden and she enjoyed her dogs. Nova loved being with her friends and especially her family. The grandchildren were the highlight of her day and she looked forward to time spent with each of them. Grandma Nova was a treasure and she was a joy to be around.
Nova leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters: Patricia Maxell and husband Gary Hix of Braggs, Oklahoma, Sandy Norris and husband Joshua of Waldron, Arkansas and two sons: Robert Slater and wife Katy of Waldron, Arkansas and David Slater and wife Brandy of Waldron, Arkansas. Grandma Nova will forever remain in the hearts of her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nova is also survived by one brother, Donald "Bud" Wright and two nephews and their families and one sister, Wilma Smith.
Nova was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Beulah Wright, her husband LeRoe "Goat" Slater and one grandson Wes Wagner.
Nova's life celebration will be at 10:00 Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Jerry Isham officiating. Interment will follow in the Lamb Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
Nova's pallbearers will be Joshua Slater, Ethan Slater, Ricky Wright, Jared Wagner, Coleman Manning, Mark Isham and Bruce Isham. Honorary pallbearers will be Hershell Lovett, Jim Lovett, Bill Lovett, Brent Smith, Jerry Smith, Terry Denney, Roger Slater, Bobby Slater, Dusty Lovett, Wes Parker, Andrew Parsons, Mike Jones, Tucker Holder, Sam Slater, Donald Slater, Joshua Norris and Donald "Bud" Wright.
Nova's visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.
