Rickey David Yandell of Blue Ball, Arkansas passed from this life, Friday, June 22, 2012 in Little Rock, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Rickey was born March 3, 1957 to Allen Elijah Yandell and Geneva Luerne (Vaughn) Yandell in Mena, Arkansas. Rickey was 55 years, 3 months and 19 days old. Rickey was a member of Waltreak United Methodist Church in Waltreak, Arkansas.
Rickey was an all around guy. He worked in the construction business building poultry houses and barns. Rickey was a fun loving guy, so when his work would take him to new places he would easily make new friends and acquaintances from all over. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. Everywhere that Rickey went so did Smedley. Smedley was not only Rickey?s dog but he was Rickey?s farm companion and his friend for 13 years. If you knew Rickey, you knew or at least knew of Smedley. Rickey really loved having the family reunion at his house every year. He was most tickled when he became a ?POP?. His grandson was the light of his life. Rickey was quite proud of his family. Todd Johnston summed it up one day when he said, Rickey was a good man, generous, helpful, loving, good hearted and a true friend to everyone.
Rickey leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife Valrie of the home, one son, Corey Yandell and wife Victoria of New Blaine, Arkansas and one step-son, Charley Emberson of Blue Ball, Arkansas. Pop will also be missed by, one grandson Cody Yandell of New Blaine, Arkansas. Rickey is also survived by three sisters, Alene Adair of Van Buren, Arkansas, Patsy Scott of Yelleville, Arkansas and Judy Hale of Union Hill, Arkansas; five brothers, Melvin Yandell of Dutch Creek, Arkansas, Jimmy (Link) Yandell of Waldron, Arkansas, Jerry Yandell of Dutch Creek, Arkansas, Ronnie Yandell of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Richard Yandell of Waldron, Arkansas. Rickey has also touched the lives of numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will love him and will miss him dearly.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents, Allen E. Yandell and Geneva L. (Vaughn) Yandell.
Rickey?s life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012 at the Waltreak United Methodist Church in Waltreak, Arkansas with Rev. Larry Pat Millard officiating. Interment will follow in the Lamb Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Rickey?s pallbearers will be Jeffery Vaughn, Dan Yandell, Shane Waits, Eric Yandell, Derek Yandell and Todd Johnston.
Rickey?s visitation will be Sunday, June, 24, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Rickey?s family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
