Thomas (Tommy) McCurter

Thomas (Tommy) D. McCurter of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed from this life, Sunday, October 12, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was born January 22, 1958 in Demmitt, Texas to Frank D. McCurter and Betty (Self) McCurter. Tommy was 56 years, 8 months and 20 days old.

Tommy was of the Pentecostal faith. In his down time to relax, Tommy enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Tommy leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Betty Bishop of Hobbs, New Mexico, one daughter, Sarah McCurter of Georgia, four sons: Heath McKurter of Oklahoma, Brian McCurter of Florida, Shawn McCurter of Georgia and Thomas McCurter Jr. of Tennessee. Tommy will forever remain in the hearts of eight grandchildren as well as three sisters: Kathy Gwin and husband Roger of Pocola, Oklahoma, Ellen Stafford and husband Steve of Granbury Texas and Julie Hargis of Boles, Arkansas and four brothers: Tim McCurter of Waldron, Arkansas, Earnest D. McCurter of Missouri, Kevin G. McCurter and wife Shelly of Hobbs, New Mexico Jerry McCurter and wife Rita of Hobbs, New Mexico. Tommy will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including many nieces, nephews, extended family friends and loved ones.

Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Frank D. McCurter, one sister Barbara McCarty and his grandparents.

Tommy's life celebration will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Rickey Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Lamb Cemetery near Waldron, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Tommy's pallbearers will be Brandon Hargis, Jonathan McCurter, Justin McCurter, Travis McCurter, Billy McCurter and Tim McCurter.

Tommy's visitation will be Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
