Thurman Eugene Hunt

October 6, 1927 — April 4, 2018

Thurman Eugene Hunt went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Thurman was born October 6, 1927 in Blue Ball, Arkansas to Willie Hunt and Ethel (James) Hunt. He was 90 years, 5 months and 29 days old. Thurman was a devout Christian. He loved the Lord and led his family by example. He was a member of Waldron Pentecostal Church of God in Waldron, Arkansas.

As a young man, Thurman served a term in the United States Army during World War II. He later became a logger and worked on a chicken catching crew. Thurman absolutely loved hunting, fishing, gardening and playing dominoes and checkers. But above all else, Thurman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His family was the light of his life and he enjoyed getting to spending time with them. He looked forward to being able to pass on his legacy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Thurman leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 68 years, Madge (Templeman) Hunt of the home, children: Linda Fowler of Waldron, Arkansas, Rickey Hunt and wife Betty of Waldron, Arkansas, Pam Burke and husband Chris of Wickes, Arkansas and Kay Morrow and husband Ray of Perryville, Arkansas. "Pop" will forever remain in the hearts of his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Thurman is also survived by one sister, Shirley Wallis of Danville, Arkansas. Thurman will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives he impacted including a host of extended family, friends, neighbors and loved ones.

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ethel Hunt, two brothers: Audie Hunt and Nolas Hunt, one son in law, Bobby Fowler and one daughter in law, Beverly Hunt.

Thurman's life celebration will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Waldron Pentecostal Church of God in Waldron, Arkansas with Chris Burke and Rev. Rickey Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Hunt Cemetery in Blue Ball, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Thurman's pallbearers will be Weston Burke, Stacy Fowler, Calvin Morrow, Josh Fowler, Nickey Hunt and William Cogburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wallis, Frank Shaddon and Glen Cook.

Thurman's visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
