Arthur Wayne Johnson, 77, of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the River Valley Health and Rehab. Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Wayne was born April, 26, 1933 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late James Alfonzo Johnson and Edith Catherine Crutchfield. He served in the U. S. Navy four years during the Korean War. He worked for the Rural Electric Association and retired from the U. S. Postal Service. Wayne served as a elder at the Pilot Prairie Church.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley Johnson of the home; one daughter, Brenda Jones and husband Joey of Muldrow, Oklahoma; two sons, Robert Johnson and wife Tina of Bella Vista, Arkansas, James Johnson and wife Sora Kim-Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Alfonzo Johnson, Jr. of California.
Wayne?s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Woodliff, officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, with full military honors at the U. S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory in Waldron, Arkansas.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
