William Edward Ragan

William Edward Ragan of Lavaca, Arkansas passed from this life, Wednesday, November 21, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. William was born June 8, 1942 to John Henry Ragan and Bertie Lorene (Maledon) Ragan in Ozark, Arkansas. William was 71 years, 5 months and 13 days old.

William rolled on down the road in an 18 wheeler for 20 years. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass Music. When time would afford him the opportunity, he loved to be in the great outdoors. He could be found tinkering on anything as long as he didn't have to go inside. William could also found up and out early each morning for a great number of years as he was a delivery man for a local newspaper.

William leaves behind to cherish his memory, his companion of 18 years, Betty Scrivner, two sons: Keith Ragan and wife Misty of Dayton, Arkansas and Charles and wife Suzie of Spiro, Oklahoma, one daughter, Tonya Scrivner, two sons: Ben Scrivner and Frank Scrivner. Grandpa will forever be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. William is also survived by one brother, Ronald Ragan of Lavaca, Arkansas. William will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including, a host of extended family, friends and loved ones.

William is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertie Ragan, one daughter, Teresa Ann Moody, two brothers, James Ragan and Lewis Ragan.

William's graveside life celebration will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Union Ridge Cemetery in Dayton, Arkansas with Bro. Robert Presson officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

William's pallbearers will be Derek Ragan, Keith Ragan, Charles Ragan, John Boy Burlison, Joseph Ragan and William Ragan.

William's visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.
