Lila Rook (Hale) James

Lila Rook (Hale) James, 97, of Blue Ball, Arkansas went to her Heavenly Home, Friday, December 3, 2021 in Waldron, Arkansas surrounded by her family. She was born December 30, 1923 in Lick Skillet, Arkansas to the late Edgar and Bessie (Wade) Hale.

Rook spent most all her days in Dutch Creek Valley where she picked cotton, peeled poles and attended church whenever or wherever the doors were open. She married her husband Lyn James on August 7, 1946 in Waldron shortly after his return from the Army. Together they had four children, built a farm, and raised cattle and chickens. Rook loved to tend to her garden, can her crops, quiliting, sewing, singing and songwriting about life were some of her favorite things to do, other than fishing. Fishing was something she did everytime she had the opportunity. She was also unbeatable at dominoes. Rook was endlessly devoted to her family and her Lord and Savior. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Granny, Sister and Friend. She was a joy to all who knew her.

Rook is survived by her children, Linda Williams and husband Larry of Waltreak, Arkansas, Patty Boren and husband Larry of Boles, Arkansas, Allen James and wife Desiree of Blue Ball, Arkansas and son in law Russell Bloodworth. Rook will forever remain in the hearts of her grandchildren: Edward Williams and wife Dawn, Ann Mahon and husband Ken, Christy Williams, Joni Rogers and husband Brian, Michael Boren, Suzanne Suta, Jeanne Carmack and husband Chris, Leslie Bell and husband Mike, James Bloodworth, Matt James and wife Kayla, Megan Tedford and husband Kyle, Nathan James and wife Courtney, many great/great great grandchildren. Rook will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted including 4 brothers, 2 sisters, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors she loved dearly.

Rook was preceded in death by her husband Lyn James, daughter Carolyn Bloodworth, her parents, grandson Lenny Ray Williams, brother Don Hale and sisters Mary Hughes and Edna Ingram.

Rook's life celebration will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery in Union Hill, Arkansas. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Rook's pallbearers will be James Bloodworth, Michael Boren, Matt James, Nathan James, J.D. Williams, and Derek Hilton. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Rook's grandchildren.

Rook's visitation will be Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron, Arkansas.
