McKayla Nicole Slater

October 23, 2002 — November 9, 2021

McKayla Nicole Slater of Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life, in Waldron, Arkansas. She was born October 23, 2002 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Donald Lee Slater and Jessica (Davis) Slater. She was 19 years old. She attended the Waldron Pentecostal Church of God in Waldron, Arkansas. She cherished every moment that she got to spend with her church family.

Wen McKayla was a few years younger, she wanted to pursue the career of music, she had the voice of an angel, but never had the chance.. Her all time favorite artists were Eminem and Kevin Gates. She loved riding in the car with the windows rolled down and in the back of trucks just to feel the wind in her hair.  She loved going to the skating rink, sometimes to skate and sometimes to just hang out.

She was so smart, she was in the gifted and talented program but later she received her GED. She wanted to become a CNA. She was more of a giver than a receiver. She was so kind and just a really genuine person. She was one of the goofiest people when she wanted to be.  Every time she smiled the whole room would light up. She tried her best everyday to put a smile on her siblings faces. She meant the world to them. She absolutely adored Christmas but hated Thanksgiving just because of the food. McKayla LOVED her granny's fried chicken and deer jerky.  She loved dressing up, doing her makeup, dying her hair and getting her nails done. She liked writing poems, listening to music and painting in her free time.

McKayla leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother Jessica Slater and her father Donald Lee Slater. McKayla is also survived by her siblings: Lindzee Slater, Donald Ray Slater, Ethan Pritchard, Kyra Slater, Kendra Slater and Darrenger Slater as well as her grandparents, Alice Davis of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Johnny Davis Sr., Rosa Wagner and Wesley Wagner all of Waldron, Arkansas. McKayla is also survived by her aunts and uncles: Misty Morris, Melinda May Slater, David Davis and wife Stacia, Sam Slater and wife Amy, Ben Lee Slater, Johnny Davis Jr. and her best friends, Anastasia Bolin and Keyfer Granger. McKayla will be missed by all that knew her and the many whose lives she impacted including a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
